The second release by Kaeos takes a different turn. Sludge and Doom-influences abound, this release was written and recorded in a 4-day session in Vlagtwedde, The Netherlands. The EP is available for download and listen at the Kaeos website. Released on August 30th, 2009.

Mal ehrlich, wieso stellt ihr denn Reviews auf eure eigene Webseite (kaeos) die so scheiße sind? und das krasse ist ja auch noch, dass euer Demo wirklich scheiße ist. Ziemlich einfallslos, kein spirit und keine energie. Bevor ihr euch philosophische Gedanken über mögliche negative Effekte von Myspace auf die kulturelle Entwicklung der Menschheit macht, solltet ihr euch besser öftes und längerr im Proberaum treffen und üben! Denn eins könnt ihr nämlich gar nicht! Instrumente spielen! Es wäre auch zu krass, wenn eine Band wie ihr auch noch auf myspace wäre, dann gäbe es dort noch mehr Schund als es ohne hin schon gibt. Ihr behauptet, dass ihr eure Musik ernst nehmt. Ich möchte behaupten, dass ihr euch selbst zu ernst nehmt, denn das was ihr an Schmutz der Black Metal Szene bietet, ist erbärmlich. Ich möchte nichts übertreiben, aber selbst ein teures Studio hätte den Dreck den ihr da aufgenommen habt, nicht besser ausschmücken können. Ihr seid wirklich eine der vielen schlechten bands, die in den letzten jahren entstanden sind – euch gibt es ja noch nicht so lang – nicht ansatzweise verdient haben, als eine Black Metal band zu zählen, weil euer sound einfach nicht nach Black Metal klingt. Ihr solltet lieber Garagenrock machen, vielleicht könnt ihr das wenigstens, aber anspruchsvolleres kriegt ihr einfach noch nicht hin!

Since you put some valid questions I will try to answer you here.
Because real discourse is more valuable than praise.
To keep real and honest, I like to remind myself that not everything we do is appreciated, or even understood by some people. Just showing those reviews we happen to like would be childish, honourless, a lie to ourselves.
If I have to explain the dynamics of peer review and discourse to you, you should consider doing something else, because the university (as gathered from your e-mail address) is clearly not the right place for you.
Your opinion is yours, I really don’t care if you like our music.
But to call it without spirit or energy? Clearly, you’ve never constructed something worthwhile before. It takes quite a lot of effort to make something, a whole lot more than typing an e-mail from behind your computer, I might add.
You do not tell me what to do. You do not tell me what to think. Never, ever, will you do that. I sincerely recommend re-thinking what you wrote there.

Unfortunately for you Germans, there is no such thing as the Amt fuer Kulturelle Ordnung. I bet you sometimes wish there was a mind-police, so you could arrest people that don’t make ‘real’ black metal (or doom, or suicidal or what-ever-the-fuck is ticking your clock).

I don’t want to be impolite any further, but why do you say that you take your music seriously, although you have recorded a 300 copy demo that sounds like a half-done construct, but not a thoroughly through-composed record? I don’t get that, and the people who wrote the reviews, presented on your website, get that neither. Please answer this question! Florian wrote that you made this music basically just for fun, but your website states that you took it seriously! This is an obvious contradiction.
It is of course up to you to present your reviews on your website and that’s all good, because it shows that many people share the same thought, namely, that your record is just not that what one expects to be a good record! My comment was only an additional blowup! So, I even supported your “real discourse”! By the way, it is your own fault that critics gave you these reviews – not mine – therefore, it is basically not my idea to devalue your reocrd. And I think that it has to be said what crap is out there in BM, nowadays. Honestly, are you proud of these reviews?
You say that we Germans are trying to control minds? Are you serious about that, too? That’s total nonsense. I guess that at least some people in Germany are very sensitive about aesthetic values and one can’t ignore people who trample BM under foot. It’s a great pity that you come up with the idea of a “Amt für kulturelle Ordnung”, because it really distorts the whole issue. It is not close-minded or conservative that I tell you that Kaeos sucks! I am a musician and I know how long it takes to write great songs and arrangements and I can detect stuff like Kaeos that was supposed to be fun! I think it is not funny to release such records, because you may disappoint your “fans”.
